What it does

Requirements and limits
- Odoo and hosting
- Odoo 19 with base_setup and web. Tested on Community and the local Enterprise lab. Requires hosting that permits custom Python addons.
- Python dependencies
- oauthlib, jsonschema and xlsxwriter in the Odoo Python environment.
- Server-wide loading
- Load the addon server-wide with --load=web,octivex_rest_api, then install it in the intended database.
- Access boundary
- External applications receive only data available through their configured access. CORS origins and permitted parameters are set per application.
- Not a drop-in replacement
- This is an independent API contract, not a replacement for another vendor's URLs or response formats.
- Opt-in and privileged features
- Legacy password and implicit OAuth grants are opt-in. Administrator Python endpoints and server actions are privileged configuration; grant that capability narrowly.
